Out the door at 7:30 am this morning as we headed off towards Gaza at the border control crossing.
Today, was the day we volunteered to make sandwiches for the soldiers at the front line.
Schlomi’s Food truck has been there for two years since the beginning of the war. He and hundreds of volunteers have been preparing pita falafel and schnitzel sandwiches for the soldiers everyday! They have made up to 700 everyday since the beginning of the war. Today, we made just 400 as they weren’t as many groups as before.
The first convoy had returned from another location close to the front. One of our volunteers had brought her three teenage children to help.…
Tuesday, Nov. 18 - Wed. Nov. 19 … Travel days:
It pays to get to the airport REALLY EARLY … especially when you are travelling internationally!
We were four hours early for our flight to Israel and good thing too! We went to the KLM counter to check into our flight … but they discovered a glitch with our visa and were not allowing us to board … so we got cosy in a couple of chairs and I reapplied for the online Visas. They sent me exactly what I received by email the first time and I showed the check-in agent again. They some how made it work.
We also waited over an hour for the Edmonton shuttle cart…
